I am looking for information on GEORGE BARKER & DENISA SHARP, who married in Rockingham Co. Dec.26, 1833. Chldren, HENRY T.BARKER (b.ca.1835) & JOHN ALLEN BARKER (b.May 10, 1844-d.1921) GEORGE apparently had died by the 1850 census, which lists DENISA BARKER & sons HENRY T. (age 15) & JOHN A. (age 6). JOHN ALLEN BARKER (my grgrandfather) served in the 45th NC Infantry, Co.G, & was captured April 6, 1865 near Burkesville,VA. He was released from the Pt.Lookout (MD) Federal prison camp on June 23, 1865. JOHN ALLEN BARKER md. NANCY JANE McKILLIP in Rockingham Co in 1867. She was the dau.of JAMES T.McKILLIP (b.ca.1821) & MALINDA PERRY. (James was a son of WM. McKILLIP & PATSY FULLER, while MALINDA was the dau. of EBENEZER PERRY & ANN WATSON. JOHN ALLEN BARKER & family, along with many other members of the McKILLIP family, moved to Indiana around 1870, where my grandfather CHARLES OLIVER BARKER was born in 1873. JOHN ALLEN BARKER & his family then moved to Laurel Co, KY around 1880. Any info on this branch of the BARKERS wold be greatly appreciated. thanks, Gerald Eaton
