Hi Bob Lee, I do not have any information on your John TAYLOR, but do have a little on other TAYLORs in Rockingham County, NC, though they are not my direct line. My ancestor Henry SAUNDERS lived on the Lickfork of Hogans Creek in eastern Rockingham County. He had a daughter Elizabeth SAUNDERS that married John Horford TAYLOR, and a son James SAUNDERS that married Esther TAYLOR. Both of these marriages probably occurred around the early 1790s. I can't really tell you much else, as I haven't researched TAYLOR there. I do know there are quite a few records of TAYLOR there. I have seen the name enough that I believe the above TAYLOR was also related to TAYLOR in Caswell County, as the ones above were only a few miles from the Rockingham/Caswell County line. I don't know if there were other TAYLOR lines in Rockingham County. If you should come across either of the above, I would be interested. I don't know what happened to James SAUNDERS and Esther TAYLOR above, but believe John Horford TAYLOR remained in Rockingham County. You haven't by chance seen a James SAUNDERS near your TAYLOR in Wilkes Co., GA have you? Since you have your TAYLOR line to late 1780s from Rockingham County, keep in mind that Rockingham was formed from Guilford in 1785. You can see my SAUNDERS line listing the above TAYLOR connections on my page at: http://pweb.netcom.com/~fzsaund/saunders.html Rick Saunders
