    3. There was a Col. James Martin on Snow Creek, whose daughter married a Settle. Gov. Alexander Martin built a home named "Danbury" on the Dan River at Jacob's Creek. This is a different family, according to the book "Early Families..." Vol. 1 p. 74. In your line, there is a will for the son James Probated 1804. Mother listed as Rebecca. Sister Rebecca given as Rebecca Martin in will. Believe sister Nancy married a Coleman Winchester, whose will was probated 1835. His property was next to that of Enoch Martin. The will for the elder James is in old Wills p. 141, died 1799, according to data in vol. 2 of "Early Families..." p. 107. Daughter Sarah who married a Rhodes. The Martins lived next to the John Rhodes family. You may be able to track land records for more data. This is disconnected, but hope it helps. Robin Taylor
