Hello list, I am seeking confirmation on the parents of: Fielding Corum b. 1794 Va. appears on the 1820 Rockingham Co. N.C. census and the 1830 Guilford census and 1850 Johnson Co. TN. census. The 1810 Rockingham shows 4 Corums, all close together; Champ, Richard, William and Elias. These 4 seem to be the sons of a Champ Corum and wife Catherine Luttrell of Fauquier Co. Va., Champ dies by 1787 and names these 4 and his other children. There's no firm proof these men ARE his children, but logic would suggest it. By the 1820 census of Rockingham Co., only Fielding, William & Richard are listed in the census, leading one to believe that Fielding must be connected to the other two, (logic again), therefore, by 1830 Fielding appears in Guilford Co., adjacent to Rockingham, where still appears a Richard & William. By 1850 Fielding is in Johnson Co. TN. age 56, and in 1850 Rockingham Co. appears Richard age 50, b. VA. , his family, and also in the household appears (father?) William age given as 78 b. VA. NOW, it seems to fit, especially when I find that the probable grandmother of Fielding, Catherine Luttrell had a nephew named Fielding Luttrell. Is this all just a bunch of circumstantial stuff or am I really on to something? Can anyone confirm or deny this theory? Thanks for your attention........Kathy.......
