    3. >>Hugh Herrill is shown with a marrige bond issued in both Rowan and Rockingham counties to Rebeckah lacken 19 May 1787.<< This marriage would fit, date-wise, with the Hugh Herrell, Herrill, Harrell etc. who lived near Bakersville, N.C. (Burke co. at the time) Hugh Herrell etc. had five or more sons born between 1787 and abt. 1810... Jesse Herrell married abt. 1812 in Burke County and is thought to be a son of Hugh Herrell.. The date also fits the date the Indians were moved further west in N.C. allowing settlers to claim that land.. This might account for the marriage of Hugh Herrill and Rebeckah Lacken being recorded in both Rockingham and Rowan Co.. This is the couple I suspect are the ancestors of my line and I welcome any piece of information concerning them.. Thanks a Million, G. Lee Hearl Authentic Appalachian Storyteller Abingdon, Virginia
