I know this is probably coincidental, but I have an ancestor Sarah Bowen who married Thomas King in Jamaica. They had several children that I know of, one of whom was Thomas King, born in 1768, in Jamaica. I have almost no information about them but they may have migrated to America. Sarah Bowen's mother, Sarah Elletson Bowen, and an uncle Gooden Elletson, as well as other family members, were in Bladen County, NC as early as 1780. Family stories indicate that the latter group traveled from the London area to NC by way of Westmoreland Parish, Jamaica.
