    1. [NCROCKHA] Revolutionary War look-ups
    2. Ruth Bloom
    3. Rob, you are truly a generous person to offer to do look-ups. I have two names that I would love to find more information about: James F. Lowe served with the Continental Line of NC as a private. I don't know if he received a pension or not. He was born about 1760, maybe in VA., and died about 1826 in Stokes County, NC. He married Sarah Zeigler Napier in 1794. Another James Lowe, served as a Corp in Capt. Robert McKenzie's Company. I found an entry in "VA's Colonial Soldiers "by Bockstruck that reads as follows, "James Lowe, drafted 1755, Lancaster, 24, 5'5", weaver, English, long strait(sic) black hair." I realize this is not much information on either person but it is all I have. If it isn't enough for you to go on I will understand. It's just that I have tried everything I can think of and am now grasping at straws. I believe one or both of these James Lowe's are my relatives but have not got enough information to establish a link. Any crumb of information you can find will be appreciated. Thanks again for your kind offer. Ruth Lowe Bloom

    1. [NCROCKHA] Revolutionary War Pension files
    2. R. Elliott
    3. Hello All- I am new to the list and hope someone can help me with part of my family starting with Joseph Richardson, b. abt. 1745 in Loudoun VA, and died 1817 in Rockingham, NC. Joseph married Sally Campton on 12 Jan. 1769 in Loudoun Co, VA. They had at least twelve children. Any help with this line would be greatly appreciated. I am also interested to the present descendents. Can any one tell me where Joseph is buried? This message is also for those of you who are on this list and have researched ancestors back to their service in the American Revolution. I live in NJ now and have access to a locally endowed private library. It has wonderful resources there, and I will send off a message with what they are at a later date. They cover the years between 1750 to 1800. Anyway, I can make copies of the COMPLETE pension files for the American Revolution. If anyone on this list would like me to do this for them, then I need you to send me the name of the pensioneer, and as much as possible of the following; state served under, location of birth, location of residence after the war, years served, spouses name, and so on. Please send as much data as possible on the pensioneer. Also I can find out if there was a pension made for a certain person if this is not available to you. Like I mentioned, there is a great deal of information and I will let you know at a later date. Please be sure that the per! son was a soldier or contributed to the Revolution. I will be visiting this library every couple of weeks. Let me know... Regards...Rob

    1. [NCROCKHA] Re: [BARNES-L] Robert Barnes 1928-1995
    2. I'm sorry, I realize now that I forgot some important information. The reason I believe that Robert Barnes b. June 4, 1928 d. 27 Nov. 1995 (last known residence is Reidsville, Rockingham, NC) is my grandfather's (Bobie Lee Barnes) brother is one of two reasons....On June 4, 1928 a male baby name yet undecided was born to Herbert Barnes and Mayford Bennett according to the birth records of Jackson Co. Tenn. Also, my mother has talked about a Robert Barnes who owned Barnes Trucking in Wilmington, NC. She says that they looked so much alike that alot of people thought that they were brothers. I would like to find out if these two Roberts are actually one and the same. Or if the coincidence of the birth date's is just that coincidence. Other siblings of Bobie Lee include Billy Gene, Beulah, Ethel, Herbert (b. June 10, 1933) and ??Barnes (b. September 30, 1936). Hoping someone can shed some light on my elusive Barnes! Thanks again to all, Kymm
