I searching for parentage of John Lee, Born 4/8/1802 in Robeson Co..NC. I believe father may be Jessie(Jesse) due to fact that John's first son was named Jesse and the naming tradition in those days was to name first born son after Husband's father. I have been unable to prove this. John married Susan Sutton 3/28/1826, they had three children Jesse, Annie Jane (both born in Robeson Co.) and Benjamin born in Stewart Co., GA, where they had moved. Susan died in July 1834 and John remarried Malissa Ann Paulk 12/8/1834 (in Stewart Co...). They had 14 children,(after moving to Southern, AL) one of whom is my great-grandmother Mary Ann Lee Hammonds(married Lafayette Hammonds). Any information would be gladly information appreciated.
