    3. Steve, I would really appreciate knowing if Jacob Miller b1750 from VA, wife Catharine Maloy Miller b 1752 Scottish - with 5 children born between 1773 and 1780 are listed. Or any Maloys. 3. No Jacob Miller in either volume. There can be found a few "Meloy" families: Charles Meloy and Daniel Meloy. Both Charles Meloy and Daniel Meloy are listed (among a few others) in a Petition to the court of Bladen county, dated 1782, as having been in a Tory party under the command of Cols. Hector McNeill and Duncan Ray that raided the premises of John Plummer in June 1781 and stole certain articles, the value of which Plummer wished to be reimbursed for. They are found in a second petition, listed along with the same men in the first petition, as having taken a Zachariah Plumer prisoner, wounded and robbed him. These Meloy men are not mentioned in the tax lists, but in the loose papers that were found with the tax lists in the 1980s at Duke University. No version of the name Malloy, Moloy, etc can be found in the indexes. There were, however, Malloy families in the area at that time. The tax lists are not complete; some neighborhoods are missing from year to year.
