    3. Mary Ray, I'm interested in knowing what you know about the Betsy Griffin, 2nd wife. My earliest predecessor was Joseph Griffin from Columbus (at the time Bladen) county. Bladen was later divided into Robeson, Columbus and Bladen counties. I have records of our Joseph having served in the Revolutionary War. Since they were the only Griffins, (to my knowledge)in the area at the time, I have a hunch your Betsy may have been connected in some way to them. Can you add any more to our knowledge of Betsy. Thanks for sharing your records. > [Original Message] > From: Mary Raye Casper <mcasper@twcny.rr.com> > To: <ncrobeso@rootsweb.com> > Date: 1/6/07 11:14:26 PM > Subject: Re: [NCROBESO] NAZARETH MITCHELL > > Sam, > Nazareth Mitchell received a pension for his Revolutionary War > service...Pension #S8897.
