Yes his wife died in Philly also. But from what I understand, she was estranged from him at the time of her death. Alverta her daughter stayed in Philadelphia and died 16 Feb 1979. Other children, who I haven't been sure if they are their children are Lottie, Mary, Smutha, Gladys Horne and Jack and Paul McKinnon. I haven't been able to prove one way or another that they were Betty and Sylvester's children. But they were all from Robeson Co. I have run up against a brick wall with Sylvester, what I have been told is he wasn't liked by the family and he treated Betty badly. Those who are alive and remember him, can't remember anything about his family, becasue they didn't like him. There are only 2 places where I have found his name: 1 on my grandmother's birth certificate and on the 1930 Philadelphia Census under Hane instead of Horne. In the 1930 census they have Sylvester from North Carolina and His parents from Georgia.
