Hi All: Well, I've booked my plane ticket, and I'm finally going to visit Robeson Co. for the first time. I'll be attending a McEachin family reunion and then spending a week doing research. Can anyone recommend places to go? Also, is there anything in the courthouse that's worth looking at that isn't available on microfilm? Thanks! Jeffrey
Hi Make sure you visit the genealogical room in the Robeson County Library in Lumberton. It has a wealth of information from census records to books on individual surnames. Jeffrey, Hope you will enjoy your trip to Robeson Co. Yes the court house records are good, and much easier to read than the microfilm. The Robeson Co. Library has a very good genealogy section. Do check Henry Hodgins file cabinet. He had McEachin relatives and was a genealogist. He left lots of material to the library in Lumberton NC. Good Luck.
