    3. Hi, Deb! I got so excited that I almost fell off the chair! You already know that one of those parents' names was not right, so it doesn't surprise me that you may only have half a name in what we have previously discussed, but here is what I found. I was going thru the Vanishing Ancestors searching for someone else, and this just jumped right off the page at me, swear to God, it did! There is a TOWNSEND family plot in Five Forks Baptist Church cemetery and there is an inscription for a Floyd TOWNSEND. This is how Peggy has transcribed it. The () are her comments. Floyd TOWNSEND (Johnson FLOYD) B March 1, 1892 D Oct 9, 1967 (son of Noel and Venie TOWNSEND) Now obviously, he is too late for your Johnsie FLOYD, but I decided to look up TOWNSEND in my 1850 census, and I found a slew Of TOWNSENDS on one page and a page of MORRISONS and a YATES and still another page with TOWNSEND and MORRISON on it, in Cabbarus county. There was a Pinkney TOWNSEND, 33, whose family consisted of Mary, 39, Esther E ROSS, 41 and Mary I TOWNSEND,10. There was James H TOWNSEND, 48, whose family was Martha, 44, Ann SMITH, 76, John N W TOWNSEND,18, Sarah Ann,17, Martha E ,13, William W W ,11, Isabel I, 10, Mary S, 6 and Pinkney F P TOWNSEND, 3. There was also a Pinkney MORRISON, 35, whose family consisted of Elizabeth C, 31, Samuel DAVIS, 9, Leroy M, 5, Elizabeth A, 3, Elam E, 1 and what looks to read Riller MITCHELL (F), 21. On a different page was a bunch of MORRISONS, but what stuck out was a YATES family: Willington YATES, 31 and his family, Crissida, 24 and Mary M, 4 mos. On a third page was J F W TOWNSEND, 39, with his family, Rachel Frazier, 60, Martha E TOWNSEND, 16 and Sarah I, 13. I know you are in a bind with trying to find your people, but just maybe you did have still another wrong name, in that MORRISON could be the Uncle "Morrie" you haven't been able to find. Anyway, I thought it was worth checking into. It just seemed a coincidence to me to find Pinkney in those two families out of the clear blue sky like that.
