For the benefit of those of you who may have Alford roots, there is a web site you can visit. They are very generous with their research and will help you find your Alford ancestor if you have one. This group is led by someone named Gil Alford;, and he always treats everyone like a long lost friend. Anyway, one of the reasons I am posting this is because there is going to be a big Alford annual meeting this Oct. in Augusta , GA, and the next year it will be held in North Carolina For more information : <http://www.alford.com/alford/aafa/homepage.html> The registration and information about the meeting in Augusta , GA in October is mentioned on the web site, but I thought it is going to be great to have the next one in N. C. and I certainly hope it will be in Robeson Co.,NC, so it will be close enough for all of the descendants in Marion and Marlboro to get there. Harllee's books are full of Alford families, so there should be a lot of descendants. Joanne H.
