Slyvia, W is for William, but the B is only a guess. My 2 x grandfather's mother was Martha BULLOCK, but Berry is another name that crops up in my ODUM line, and I don't even know if it should be BERRY, since that is a legitimate last name, or just Berry, as a Christian name. I cannot document any one with that last name as a direct relative in my line. One of my pet peeves in genealogy is the use of initials instead of names! Until last year, all I knew of my great uncles' name was two initials: W C Odum, J D ODUM, H M Odum, L P ODUM. Now I ask you, how is one supposed to know who they are? William's children aren't much better: Farney A, H. P. and Charlie W ODUM. It's no wonder we can't tie one family into another. I will get your copy of Raft Swamp in the mail tomorrow.
