Hi, Does anyone have the history of Raft Swamp? I know the churh was founded by James Prevatt. But I thought I heard there was a story written about the church's history.

Hi, Jennifer, My uncle, the Reverend Nash Odom, wrote a history of Raft Swamp Baptist Church in 1961, in which foreward he states that a summary of the history will be in the association minutes of the Robeson Association for the year of 1961. Uncle Nash's history is not very long, only about 25 type written pages. Was there something special you had in mind to know? I have a copy which Nash gave me some time ago, which I can check out for you. Also the Raft Swamp Baptist Church minutes are on microfilm from the LDS church FHC, film # 0986268, item 6. There are other churches on this film as well, but I don't know what they are.
