Does anyone know the location of a McAlpin Cemetery in Robeson County. I have heard it was in Rennert and also Philadelphus. I am looking for the grave of Duncan McNair. Thanks Tony Wages
Tony I found the cemetery in volume 1 of Vanishing Ancestors by Peggy Townsend. Page # 65, Cemetery # 58. It lists Duncan McNair . Sept 20, 1800 d. Sept 21, 1831 Aged 31 yrs 1 day. The cemetery is located just northeast of Rennert. It is on the left side of the road just before and intersection. Sorry, but I cannot read any road names on my map. For sure, one of the locals on this list will send in the correct address. It appears there are four graves; Duncan, his wife Elizabeth, Christian Campbell and _________Henry (wooden marker). Tony, The cemetery known as McAlpins Grove or McNair is located near Rennert. There are two Duncans buried there- the one from Scotland with his wife Catherine McCallum- they came in 1786. This inscription is on a very tall stone tower. Hope this helps. This is in Vol 1 of my books. Peggy [email protected] wrote: > Does anyone know the location of a McAlpin Cemetery in Robeson County.
