    3. Doris, I don't know. Although I have an excellent history of him, Duncan Cornelius LOWE is one of my least filled in family members. No one seems to be related to him but me! He married Mary "Polly" SMALL on 15 June 1857 and they had 3 children of whom I am aware: Orpha, John W and my ggm, Olive Jane. Several months ago I put out a query re: her sibs and no one ever picked up on it. John W LOWE married Levina MOORE. Their issue: Dan C LOWE, who had 3 wives, Minnie PREVATTE, Olive BULLOCK and Ruth LEWIS. Edgar Thomas, who married Sallie B BAXLEY W. S., who married Mantha PREVATTE Kenneth, who married Maggie MAULDIN Maggie, who married Hartwell BULLOCK Bessie, who married Sammy DAVIS Selonia, who married Ben BAXLEY Mary, who married Charles NANCE Becky, who married Alvin PREVATTE Orpha married Rabe PREVATT. Uncle Nash provided me with an extensive history of Duncan Cornelius and his descendants in which preface he mentions a Stephen LOW, who was granted 100 acres of land near the HORNE Swamp in 1793, and in 1825, Daniel LOE deeded Stephen LOE 355 acres at School House Bridge. Unfortunately, as excellent as this history is, Nash was not able to connect our gf with any of the other LOE/LOW/LOWE's to pinpoint his antecedents. He believes, but can't prove, Duncan's father was an Ebenezer LOWE who witnessed his marriage to Mary SMALL, d/o Sherriff John M SMALL and Esther MOORE. If you would like a copy of Duncan's history, send me your snail mail address and I will send a copy to you. Perhaps you will recognize some of the other names mentioned. I will give you a part of what Nash has to say: In Bladen county, N C is found the will of Thomas LOWE that is dated Jan 14, 1779. It lists the mother and executrix of Thomas LOWE as Amey HILL, as sister-in-law and executrix, Winifred LOWE. Sons were given as Daniel and John LOWE. the witnesses were Abraham DAVIS, James MOORE and Mary MOORE. The earliest record of any LOWES (LOES) in Robeson county is a deed in the register of deeds Office which is dated 1788 when William TOLER deeded Daniel LOE 300 acres on the East side of the Old Field Swamp. ......In 1793 the state of N C granted Stephen LOW 100 acres near the Horse Swamp...... I wish I could have been of more help.
