Can anyone tell me anything about these men : Robeson Co. 1790 census is listed George, John and a Joseph Williams. There is a John Williams listed in the 1800 census, then Absolom, Giles and President Williams in the 1810. Then in the 1820 census my ancestor- Charles Williams shows up as well as Absolom, Giles and President. Trying to find a link if any and possibly Charles father. Charles was born about 1789 or 90 and married Marthew Kitchen in 1811, then Elsey Thompson in 1827 thanks Pam boan60@msn.com
Would anyone have information on Jake WILLOUGHBY, born about 1855, the son of Solomon WILLOUGHBY? There is a J.H. WILLOUGHBY who married Tetitha PREVATT in Robeson on January 7, 1879 - could this J.H. have been Jake? I appreciate any help finding information on J.H. Thank you. Pat missyblake@juno.com

I am so glad to see the flood of messages defending this Rootsweb site and it's volunteers against the remarks about "cheap advertising", which I presume may have been referring to the news that the Mecklenburg Heritage Book we have been eagerly awaiting is finally completed and available to us. whoever sent the remarks obviously did not realize how we have hounded the compilers of this book to let us know where to order it from and how soon! Happy searching, everyone. Jean
WOW!! I can hardly believe what I have just read in this email. I absolutely agree with Carolinatyme and BoPeep39. Be grateful and say thank you, WOW! I'm not where I need to be but, Thank God, I'm not where I used to be. I'm O.K. and I'm on my way Lisa C. Middlesworth
The easiest way to avoid this type of "Cheapie Advertising" is to unsubscribe from the NCRobeson mail list. To do this, simply send an email to: NCROBESO-L-request@rootsweb.com with the word unsubscribe in the body of the message. These mail lists are out there to help others in their search for their family ancestry. I am not sure what "Cheapie Advertising" you were referring to, as I have not seen any in the messages that I have recieved from this list. As a volunteer researcher, I do not "Solicite" business nor any type of payment for information that I find. I love the search (call it an addiction) and offer my services to do look-ups through the Census, Marriage, Military Service records, etc, that I have available to me through my paid subscription to Ancestry.com (in between working full time and having fun with my 9-month old granddaughter). I hope in the past, that someone has helped you, and wish you best of luck in your own search for your ancestral history. Cheers, Michael Kent Island, Maryland
I'm in total agreement with Elaine and others, I have never ever seen an advertisment or commericals posted here or any other Rootsweb site that I belong to. Besides don't commericals usually ask for some sort of many, such as a price tag to buy the product. Never saw that either!! If you like, I do have some ocean front property for sale here in Arizona. I'm a tad confused. I have been subscribed to this email list for awhile and have gotten no emails soliciting anything. If anything it's very informative and anyone can UNsubscribe at any time. That would take care of any unwanted emails from this list! I agree with Elaine, it takes a lot of work to maintain the rootsweb site and lists such as these. A lot of work and very little thanks. Perhaps the original Ben/Barbara should simply unsubscribe. Stephanie On 2/21/06, Elaine <BoPeep39@comcast.net> wrote: > > > To Ben & Barbara Williams - if you're still around. To Ben & Barbara Williams - if you're still around. How much do you pay to access a Rootsweb site? You obviously have no idea how much time, effort and expense go into producing a web site. There are volunteers who devote many hours per day to keep a web site operating. Have you volunteered any of your research information to the web site for no other reason than the hope it might help others? If you had truly read and comprehended the heading correctly, you would realize that these aren't commercials, they're web sites of Robeson Co Listmembers and there is no charge to access them. Yours, if you had one, could be there as well and at no charge to you! Even if they were commercials, so what? You're getting the list sent to you free of charge! Hi: I need some help. I'm looking for Sparkman families who lived in Robeson County. Specifically I'm looking for a Levi Sparkman, b. ca 1776. The Sparkman, Townsend, Bullock and Attaway families are all intertwined and we're trying to unravel them. I could use some help with the 1800 census records. Levi moved to Camden County, Georgia where he was listed in the 1810 Census records. I'm still looking for him for the 1820, 1830 and 1840 records. In 1845 and 1850 he was in Alachua County, Florida. Any help would be appreciated. Rebecca okrnramsey@sbcglobal.net
