Hi, I hope you will consider signing up (it's free) for the online virtual cemetery at Find-a-Grave (http://www.findagrave.com <http://www.findagrave.com/> ) by going to: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=nm. At Find-a-Grave one can find one's relatives with photos of them, the cemetery, etc. It is also possible to leave notes and virtual flowers and to add more photos (all free). I think it is a wonderful way to honor the dead, and it is especially nice for those of us who live far from our family's graves. The site is also a big genealogy help to those tracing their ancestors. Thanks, Sharlotte

Daniel MCLEOD was born in Scotland ca 1781 and died in Lowndes Co., GA about 1884. In NC Daniel married Nancy UNKNOWN who was born in NC ca 1787. (Nancy was about ten years older than Daniel). Daniel and Nancy were in SC by 1810 and were enumerated in GA by 1840. Would like to correspond with anyone having knowledge of this family. In particular I would like to know Daniel's port of entry into the US and his place of birth in Scotland. I would like to know Nancy's maiden name and names of her parents. If anyone connects to this family, I have lots of information on them when in GA. Any information useful.
In case their is interest, I'll share Regan records that connect to one of my grandmothers in Bladen County. Following is a summary of what I have gathered: Joseph married Anna (unknown) had child Ralph in 1736. Ralph born 1736 in Bladen Co. married Ann Millicent (unknown) abt 1768. They had child Martha abt 1774. Martha married Thomas Hester (born 1778) before 1800 in Robeson Co. Martha died in 1844 in MS. One of their children was named Daniel Thomas Hester born Feb. 1816. Daniel Thomas married Sarah Lewis in Bladen County 15 Nov 1874 by Reverend Robt. Sessoms -------------their first child, however, is recorded as being born in 1845 and last child born in 1862. I have no explanation or other information to explain why their wedding date seems out of sync. Maybe it was a second marriage for one or the other. Or, maybe they waited until they were sure. Or, maybe someone just gave me incorrect information. Sorry cannot verify the marriage date. > [Original Message] > From: Sam West <sam.west.1@gmail.com> > To: <ncrobeso@rootsweb.com> > Date: 10/17/06 7:45:33 PM > Subject: Re: [NCROBESO] Regan Family > > Michael, > > Here is another Regan Connection. HI Sam, Been wondering how your health has been lately. Are you still going to Duke? I have not been to Lumberton in over 3 years and really need to get back there soon. I can only imagine how the cemetery on Meadows Rd has grown back up. Any new findings I need to know about concerning the Musselwhites? I have not done too much with genealogy lately. Did you ever get your book published? I still want a copy if and when. Joanne

Dillon Co SC is just across the NC/SC state line from Robeson Co NC. Route 9 runs in a southeasterly direction, generally following the SC state line to the coast and just a few miles south of the NC/SC line. -------Original Message------- From: mewalt7@aol.com Date: 10/17/06 14:20:47 To: ncrobeso@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [NCROBESO] Regan Family That is great, Just wondered if there was a connection connecting the two counties. thanks -----Original Message----- From: FISHINGEM@aol.com To: ncrobeso@rootsweb.com Sent: Tue, 17 Oct 2006 1:50 PM Subject: Re: [NCROBESO] Regan Family Michael: I have Dr. John Regan as 5th. child of Col. Hi Betty, A Peter Paul went to GA, and then on to FL where he died in the 1920's. Hi Michael, There were two Moses Pauls. First Moses Paul, b. early 1800's was son of Rev. Abraham Paul. Second Moses Daniel Paul, was son of John Pickett Paul, and grandson of first Moses Paul. Hi Steve, Some of the early Pauls in both counties had the same names, but as of yet I have not found a connection between the two. Carlene had sent me some information on your John Paul. I have no proof because I have not worked on the Craven Co NC Pauls, but if your John married in Craven Co NC, then I think that he was most likely from that group of Pauls.
