Wanda, Do you know if Louraney was divorced? this is what I've found so far... 1) I found where a Louvanie was married to Simeon Harrelson. Their daughter Mendella was called Minnie D Harrelson on the 1880 Census. This could be the same Minnie living with her mother (Louraney/Lou R) and step father (Alexander Horn) on the 1900 and 1910 census. Minnie D Harrelson was living with her father and step mother in the 1880 census, but not in the 1900 and 1910. It is possible Louraney and Simeon divorced and she remarried Alexander Horn. Of course this needs more research to be certain, but it's a possibility. - I found where a Minnie D Harrelson died 26 September 1946 in Robeson County, NC. If this is the Minnie you are speaking of, you can get a copy of her death certificate and possibly verify her parent's names. 2) Louraney may also be a daughter of Reeves and Celia Hayes. There is a Laurenia born ca1852 in their household, and Marshall Hayes' son, Oscar Reeves, (her nephew) is living next door to your Louraney in 1920. If you want the actual census images, let me know and I will email them directly to you. 3) Do you know if Alexander Horne's parents are Daniel (born ca1825) and Margaret (born ca1826) Horne? 1860 Census Allens Bridge, Marion, Marion County, South Carolina pg230 Reeves Hays ca1820 Celia Hays ca1835 Laurenia Hays ca1852 Mary J Hays ca1854 Leta Hays ca1856 Marshal Hays ca1859 1870 Census Nichols Depot, Hillsboro, Marion County, South Carolina pg 26 Reeves Hayes ca1819 Celia Hayes ca1834 Leta Hayes ca1856 Marshal Hayes ca1858 Hugh Hayes ca1862 Della Hayes ca1865 James Hayes ca1866 1870 Carmichael, Marion County, South Carolina pg 3 Simeon Harrelson ca1845 Louvanie Harrelson ca1852 Augustus Harrelson ca1869 Mendella ca April 1870 [unable to find Louraney in the 1880 Census at this time] 1880 Green Sea, Horry County, South Carolina pg9 Simeon Harrelson ca1845 Julia Harrelson ca1855 Augustus R Harrelson ca1869 Minnie D Harrelson ca1871 Daniel C Harrelson ca1878 Viola Harrelson ca1876 Hector Singletary Black Male Laborer ca1863 1880 Hillsboro, Marion County, South Carolina pg32 Reaves Hays ca1819 Halie Hays ca1833 Leaty Hays ca1860 Marshal Hays ca1861 Hervie Hays ca1862 Della Hays ca1865 Robert Hays ca1874 Henry James Servant ca1857 1900 White House, Robeson County, North Carolina pg 4B Alexander Horn Jan 1856 married ca1878 Lou R Horn April 1852 Minnie Hirrlson April 1870 (says 1st marr daughter) Frilton Horn Dec 1883 Leta Horn June 1896 1910 White House, Robeson County, North Carolina Alexander Horn ca1856 married ca1878 Louraney Horn ca1852 8 children 7 living Fielton Horn ca1885 married ca1907 Rodie Horn daughter-in-law ca1891 Minnie Harrelson ca1876 Mattie Hayes neice ca1902 1920 Gaddy, Robeson County, North Carolina 9A Oscar R Hays ca1883 [This is Oscar Reeves Hayes son of Marshall Hayes brother to Laurenia Hayes] Crettie Hays ca1893 [This is Cretie Edwards Scott my 2C3R thru Eli and Celia Goodyear Scott] Selnia Hays ca1914 Bertha Hays ca1916 Charles Hays ca1917 Lucile Hays ca1918 right next door... My great great grandmother was Louraney Horne (at least that's how it's spelled on the tombstone.) Wife of Alex Horne in Fairmont, NC. She was born about 1852. I am trying to find her parents. While visiting one of the family cemeteries I found a headstone for Minnie Harrelson - no one seemed to know who she was so I came home and did a search. I found a Minnie Harrelson living with Alex and Louraney in 1910 (census) - she is listed as step daughter to Alex Horne. So it follows that she would be the daughter of Louraney from a previous marriage/relationship. Also found in that household a Mattie Hayes, age about 10, listed as a niece. I am trying to track down Louraney's parents and speculating she was originally a Hayes who married or had a relationship with a Harrelson. Does this sound familiar to anyone? --------------------------------- Shape Yahoo! in your own image. Join our Network Research Panel today!

We have all of the items from the Temple including the Star of David that hung above the door at the Robeson County History Museum. I have an old photograph of the Temple in the collection if you are interested in that also. Dr. Tulla Lightfoot at UNC Pembroke has done a set of drawing of Temples from around the country. Her email is tulla.lightfoot@uncp.edu. Thanks, Blake Tyner ************************************ K. Sam, do you remember when the W B Sutton who's death Certificate that you saw died? The William B. Sutton that we are refering to was the son of John Caleb Sutton and He was born 1837 there in Robeson and died in 1914 there in Robeson. In fact He is burried there in Lumberton and I have a picture of His grave. ----- Original Message ----- From: "sam.west" <sam.west@ncmail.net> To: <ncrobeso@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, July 05, 2007 8:37 AM Subject: Re: [NCROBESO] Suttons of Robeson Co., NC > Hi Marcia and Tom, > > I have seen the death certificate of a W.B.
