    3. Name two sons in the same family Henry? Why not? My WILKINSON ancestor was twice married. From the first marriage he had John, Jehu, and Elizabeth among others. From the second one he had John N. and Elizabeth. The second Elizabeth died abt 3 years before her father wrote his will. Other than that, the children grew to maturity carrying the same name as a sibling!!!!!

    2. Peggy, First of all, let me thank you for your time and to say to you that you are more than generous to share this information with me. The HERNDON names are as follows: JOHN P. HERNDON b.ca1820 ELIZABETH STANTON HERNDON b.ca1824 JACKSON STUBBS HERNDON b.29Jul1854 d.08Oct1915 MARY CATHERINE ODOM HERNDON b.29Oct1858 d.29Nov1943 LUTHER NAPIER HERNDON b.01Jan1897 d.20Nov1967 HOPE DANZLER HERNDON b.21(31 ?)Jan1880 d.28Nov1958 MARY GILMORE EDENS HERNDON b.18Nov1882 d. ? MARY INEZ HERNDON b. 21Feb1924 d. ? *NOTE: These last HERNDONS I do not have any dates on, but most of them should be on the OAK RIDGE CEMETERY survey. BERT HERNDON BESSIE HERNDON PAULINE HERNDON CARRIE LEE HERNDON LILLIAN HERNDON Peggy, when I started listing these HERNDONS, I did not realize I had so many of them who I believe are buried in OAK RIDGE CEMETERY in St. Pauls, Robeson Co, NC. If you prefer, You may let me know costs of copying & postage and if it is not too much for my budget, I will be glad to send you a check for the same and you can mail the copies to me. Because of major health problems which I am now undergoing with my heart and cost of medication, my funds are tighter at present. My husband is a stroke victim and is paralyzed on the left side and since my health failed, extra help has had to be called in to assist with his needs. I am not asking for any pity or freebies; just wanted to explain why I must have the cost figure before you mail them to me so I can see if I can work it into my budget and be able to reimburse you for your expenses. Of course, if you do not mind looking all these HERNDONS up on the survey and sending by email, that will also be fine. I do appreciate your kindness in this endeavor. Blessings, Laura Herndon

    3. To Betty Bivins and all: I tried to scan my uncle's history into my OCR program last night, but it couldn't read the typeset and produced a mangled copy. (It was typed in 1961 and the typewriter would have been a homicide detective's dream come true!) I went to Kinko's and made some copies today, so for those of you who want a copy, please send me your addresses off-list. (Betty, you have first dibs, if you want one.) I made 20 copies, but will gladly make more if more are needed. I also made them double sided so that you need deal with only 14 pages instead of 28. Also beware when you receive them that he did not number the pages. Lynn [email protected]

    3. Sorry that didn't help. Maybe this will. I have the 1850 N C census CD's and the Henry MOORE that is living with Abraham in 1850 is 23 years old, making his birth year at least 1828 since the census was done in August. The other children listed are John, age 21, Mariah, age 17, William, aged 15, Owen, jr. aged 13, and Abraham, aged 11. There is no adult female in this household, nor can I see why one child is called jr, when his name is Owen. Unfortunately, the notation beside that name is totally illegible. My own MOORE line is completely blank. Esther MOORE married John SMALL and Molly MOORE married James PREVATT. Both are my 3x ggm's and I have not one scintilla of data on either of them. John's dtr, Mary, married my gf D C LOWE and James' dtr, Mary Susan, married my gf, W B ODUM. No one has ever come forward to say they know anything about these two women's antecedents, so I wish you luck. 2. that don't help because it wasn't who i was looking for. Henry Moore is the one. I don't know if it's the one born in 1828 or the one born in 1850? They both were in the household of Abraham Moore and Mary Jane Biggs second wife. I don't think she was the mother of most of those kids. Would they name two boys in the same house Henry?

    3. I have a marriage for Abraham MOORE to Emily THOMPSON on 1 Sep 1828. But I also have a marriage for Alexander MOORE to Elizabeth BARNES on 5 Dec 1827. Does that help or confuse the issue even further? 3. Take 95 N from Lumberton and take the St. Pauls exit ( the first one ) it is Hwy 20. Good Luck in your search. There are three large cemeteries in town. Oak Ridge, The Presby. Church and Great Marsh Ch Cem. Peggy Lynn Prettyman wrote: > Barbara, > > It is over towards Pembroke, outside of Lumberton, if memory serves me. 3. Remember birth certificates only began in 1913, and 1913 -1918 (I believe) are in the Archives, Death certificates also began in 1913. If you are talking Raft Swamp Baptist Ch you might want to check the cemetery there or tell me your gggrandfathers name and I'll see if I have anything for you. 3. If you are traveling south on I95, you go to the left, which is east to go to St Pauls. This left, or easterly, turn is before you get to Lumberton. If you get to Lumberton, going south on I95, you go to the right to go to Red Springs. I am not a north, south, east, west person, but can tell you directions from a specific highway. I just went to St Pauls early this year and this is the way we went. Betty in GA Lynn Prettyman wrote: > Barbara, > > It is over towards Pembroke, outside of Lumberton, if memory serves me.
