Peggy, I have BRIGMAN family in New Hollywood Cemetary. I have a problem that I would like to talk to you about. Could I privately e-mail you. Thank you so much. Lois
Peggy, Hooray! The name Annis (wife of Edward Jr.) (perhaps he had by then taken Edward Sr. since his father had died and he had a son named Edward also) Gets confusing., But Annis is the first name I had for Edward' wife.I have a notebook full of those deed indices. My husband and I spent an entire day locked in the old Register of Deeds office in 1994. I have to get hold of that notebook. This Edward first appeared in 1790 which coincides exactly with what Mrs.Beulah Dickinson(now deceased) told me as to why they came to SC. Thanks much. Sylvia

Sylvia, I do know there was a Edward Jackson in SC ( mature) in 1750 And there was a Edward whose wife was Annis (deed in Marion Co dtd Aug 1799) says Edward Jackson Sr. and wife Annis of Liberty Co This was wit by Wm Jackson. When I have time I will go over the data you sent. Thanks peggy [email protected] wrote: > Peggy, > Obviously either there are confused lines or serious discrepancies that need > attentionl > The Edward Jackson, Jr. you have as having married Eleanor Manning is Edward > III who married Eleanor Adams. Peggy, Obviously either there are confused lines or serious discrepancies that need attentionl The Edward Jackson, Jr. you have as having married Eleanor Manning is Edward III who married Eleanor Adams. This Edward M.Jackson was born in Marion Co abt.1795. Eleanor Adams b. 1812 in Marion Co. Their Children: Manaira Jackson b. 1828 Beaty Jackson b. 1830 David Jackson b. 1831 Elihu Jackson b. 1832 Angeline Jackson b. 1834 Franklin Jackson b. 1836 Charlotte Jackson b. 11837 Eleanor Jackson b. 1838 Rebecca Jackson b. 1841 Elizabeth Jackson b. 1843 Margaret Jackson b 1846 As for Emery Jackson, dau. of Edward Jackson, Jr. & Elisia Manning, she was born between 1790 and 1795 is my guess. She m John McKenzie. They had children: Robert McKenzie James McKenzie Elisha McKenzie. m. a Ms. Hamilton David McKenzie I have not traced her any farther. I need to get back to work in earnest if I am to publish the Massengill, Heath, West, Rheem, and Rouse lines my husband had collected of his lines before he died. I promised him I would. He was so thorough, documenting everything he wrote in his manuscripts. It takes a long time to enter all those documentations, but they are so very important to the accuracy of his findings. Sylvia ps I have a copy of Edward Jackson, Sr.'s will.
For those of you new to genealogy, here is the web address for Robeson Co on the US Gen Web Site: http://www.geocities.com/BourbonStreet/1786/robeson.html. You may have to type this in yourself. This is a permanent site where Church records, Wills, Deeds, Family Histories, etc. are posted for anyone to use for years to come. Victoria Proctor is the Web master and a good one. If you have something to contribute that should be there ( marriage lists, etc.) you should contact her to find out how to put it there. It is a repository of the combined efforts of a handful of very generous genealogist. And the more information added, the better and more useful it becomes. [email protected] Joanne Harley.

I get there by entering www.usgenweb.com/nc and then clicking on the county; a lot less typing. BTW, this works by using any State initials. Could any of your Barker line migrated to GA and AR? I am looking for Mary E. M. Barker, b. 6 Dec. 1828, d. 18 Nov 1903 who married William J. Dunn, b. 19 Apr 1819, d. 11 Feb 1892. Both are buried in Arkansas. It is believed that Mary Barker was born in Georgia of parents John Barker and Susan S. Osborn(e) of NC. I have nothing else on John and Susan. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. They are my husband's GGG Grandparents. Thanks Lois
I am looking for Great Marsh Cemetary near St. Pauls and New Hollywood Cemetary in East Lumberton. I know that I have family buried in both places but haven't been able to locate all the graves. Also, does anyone have a listing of ALL Robeson County cemetaries. Thank you so much. Lois
Guess I should have thought about that! It's Jane S. Thompson, 3206 Cherry Tree Lane, Prospect, Kentucky 40059 Just for information - and you might already know about it - In your vol 3 page 101 you have a picture of Aley Barker's stone. It's Rd. 1945, Ten Mile - the old Bunyon Musselwhite farm. Since that time. My cousin, Joanne Williams has gone back and found the stones for my GGrandmother, Matilda Delite Musselwhite, her son Alton G. Humphrey, Reuben Musselwhite, Laura Maude Humphrey, (Matilda's daughter), Bertha J. Musselwhite, wife of R M Musselwhite, and John Musselwhite (Matilda's Father). She and her husband Phil have put a chain link fence around the site and tried to keep it taken care of. They have also reset some of the stones and made at least one new one. She's had no luck recently in finding anyone to maintain the mowing, etc. and lives in Morehead City so unable to do it herself. Last year, I visited the area with her for awhile and it was a wonderful experience to actually to see the site and realize that it was my GGrandmother's resting place. My Grandmother, affectionately known as Nonnie, loved her dearly and would be so pleased to know that her resting place had been found and hopefully maintained. It's in the middle of a cornfield on Uncle Bunn's farm. Just thought you might be interested in this and without the knowledge of the marker you found for Aley, might have never been found. Thanks so much! Thanks also for the copy of the cemetery listing. Again, I wold be pleased to pay costs incurred or send a check to some place in Lumberton as a donation. Thanks! Whoops, looks like I accidently sent out the "what's new" email before I finished. Many thanks to: Cheryl Crowder who provided the photograph of Ashpole Presbyterian Church. Cheryl has also contributed some tombstone photographs from Asbury Episcopal Church cemetery for THOMPSON burials. Lynn Prettyman and Mrs. Peggy Townsend for Raft Swamp Baptist Church cemetery. (For those of you who are new to Robeson County genealogy, Mrs. Townsend's cemetery books, "Vanishing Ancestors", Volumes I-III, are an extremely valuable resource; truly excellent. I've been a fan of Mrs. Townsend for 20 years.) Speaking of excellent, thanks to our guru, Sam West, for granting permission to post his data on Robeson County churches to the NCGenWeb site. If you missed any of his posts here, be sure to check the web site for Robeson County Church Records. Y'all are great !!!
