This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: JULIAN, MURRAY, ALEXANDER, RICHESIN, ELLIOTT Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/kUB.2ACE/1687.2 Message Board Post: My GGG Grandparents were : JOHN ANDREW MURRAY or ANDREW MURRAY b. abt. 1768 who md. BARBARA JULIAN b. abt. 1770-1781 in Randolph Co. NC. BARBARA JULIAN is the daughter of RENE JULIAN and CATHERINE ALLRED MADDEN, though Barbara is not listed by all the JULIAN RESERCHERS. We have some Julian information but none on the MURRAYS nor the Catherine ALLRED MADDEN lines. We know the JULIANS of Randolph Co. NC are said to be of FRENCH extraction, and we assumed the MURRAYS to have been SCOTS-IRISH but all we have is the first name of Barbara JULIANS husband ANDREW or JOHN ANDREW MURRAY b. abt. 1768. He seems to have no ties that we can find, and by 1830 Monroe Co. TN census, BARBARA JULIAN MURRAY is then listed as a widow with children still at home. Barbara Julian Murray then married THOMAS ALEXANDER of Monroe Co. TN, and the MURRAYS, JULIANS, and ALEXANDERS then died in GREENE CO. MO. This is my direct line so I would like to have more information from RANDOLPH CO. NC on the JULIANS, MURRAYS, and others. I do know that there is suppose to be ties with the families of YORK, ALLREDS ( some say ALRIDGE ) and others of NC to TN. The parents of BARBARA JULIAN MURRAY ( RENE JULIAN and CATHERINE ALLRED MADDEN JULIAN ) are listed having died in the 1840 era in KNOX CO. TN. Since the MURRAYS, JULIANS, ALEXANDERS, YORKS and others all seemed! to later migrate to KNOX CO. TN, and then migrated throughout TN ( MONROE Co, McMINN Co., RUTHERFORD Co. TN and etc. ) before they then migrated and died in GREENE CO. MO, perhaps someone can help put the pieces in place for these families when they were back in North Carolina. Will gladly share what we have so far. Tina Rogers Beller [email protected]
Do you happen to have an Andrew J. York that married Margaret Butler on 4/21/1855 in Randolph County? I don't know if this will be a help to you but I thought I would give you the following. My daughter in law was an Alexander. Her ancestor was James Alexander who was born about 1760 and came to Roane Co., Tn.Roane at that time went down to and maybe included Monroe Co. James had a son Thomas so that name is in the family. James had a son Joseph who moved to Monroe Co and then into Polk Co., Tn. I believe your Thomas related. Now James came here from Spartenburg Co., S. C. but the family says their Alexanders had come from N. C. and they think Md. before that. Then they claim they tie to Lamar Alexanders line [the politician] whose line was Blount Co. I heard this before Lamar went into politics. The Murrays were a prominent family I believe in Knox Co. My husbands line is John Hinds of Randolph Co., NC who came into Knox and children to Roane Co. There were Allreds in his original records and I think Julians. I know a Julian desc. in Roane Co. I live here in Roane. I believe I have a record of the earliest Julian into NC. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, September 25, 2003 12:05 PM Subject: [NCR'ndol] Re: Julian, Allred, Cheney, Coble, Idenden, Smith, Swafford, Trip, Wilkinson, Yeargain > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: JULIAN, MURRAY, ALEXANDER, RICHESIN, ELLIOTT > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/kUB.2ACE/1687.2 > > Message Board Post: > > My GGG Grandparents were : > > JOHN ANDREW MURRAY or ANDREW MURRAY b. abt. 1768 who md.
