During ALL thde years between the end of the Revolutionary War and the Civil War there was movement from NC to Indiana. I know because several branches of my family participated in this migration. Some of them didn't like slavery, others movedfor religious reasons (?), who knows what else? Maybe it was the lure of free land. They usually walked alongside their covered wagons and made their way through the Cumberland Gap. Cookie, a Hoosier in Florida << [email protected] >>
