I can tell you the area Tidence Lane lived it being the eastern section of Randolph Co near the Cravens , The Moffitts , also Carr , Caveness , The list goes on I found it helpful to pinpoint the area where my ancestor lived , what creek near what town , sometimes it is the only way to look at a land record and know , this should be my ancestor as it is near such and such a creek where my ancestor lived , It helps to attribute certain records to a certain family member and if it is an area across the county from where ones family was it is probably a different family . this is helpful when one has a common name like James Jones you may have three in a county and only one is yours .
