Hi Cookie -- Below are two addresses that will get you good York information. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~allyorks/ncstate.htm http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~monticue/ghtout/ghtindex.htm Sarah York Alldredge was probably descended from Jeremiah York, whose descendants lived in North Carolina at that time. There were lots of them in Randolph, Surry, Stokes and Guilford, etc. They're not in my direct family line, but they pop up so much and are so interesting that I tend to keep track of them. Happy hunting! My gr-gr-gr-gr-grandgmother was Sarah YORK, who was born Feb. 7, 1790, in North Carolina. She was married to a Samuel ALLDREDGE (ALDRIDGE, etc.), who also was born Feb. 13, 1790, in North Carolina, probably in Randolph County. They both died in Posey County, Ind. I have been unable to establish any information on Sarah's parents. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. TIA. Cookie, a Hoosier Boy in Florida. << [email protected] >>
I have a problem with Mary Butler and George Staley that lived in Randolph County, NC. On Ancestry many people have them married at different times with George having been married three different times. I have two different dates of marriage for George and Mary; one is 4/1/1840 and the other is 12/11/1858. Does anyone know anything about this couple? When they were married for sure, who their children were? Any and all help is greatly appreciated! I have confusing information :-((( Thank you Jane
Well folks, the puzzle for poor George Staley just keeps growing! After searching on the net there are 4 different wives listed for poor George. Can anyone clear this up with absolute proof? wife # 1 Mary Kivett wife # 2 Nancy Burgess wife # 3 Sarah Hill wife # 4 Mary Butler---this is my main interest but would love to know about the others if they were indeed married to George. Obviously there was more than one George Staley, or was there?????? Anyone up for a good problem to solve :-) Jane
