I have seen her names spelled Dicy, Dicey, Disey, and Disy. In the family Bible records of the Randolph County Library, Disy is listed in the Bible as "Lisey." This same document lists her second husband as Alfred Richardson which is also an error. James Alfred Richardson was the son of Disy and Edward "Ned" Richardson. I will try to list the name as it was spelled on the records so the spelling will vary according to the source. Dicey Presnell is buried in New Hope Cemetery, Seagrove, NC with William Brantley ''Bill'' Scott, her third husband. -letter and notes of my cousin, Marie Richardson Auman, Seagrove, NC. He was born around 1752 in Middlesex, Virginia. His wife's name as Mary with no further info. They had 8 children. William Presnell's father was James Presnell. His birth place as N.C. in 1736. His wife's name was Sarah Harvey with no further info. They had 17 children. James Presnell's father was also named James. He was born in 1714 in Virginia. His wife's name was Mary Ann Daniels. They had only 1 child. According to the 1870 Census of Randolph County, Dicy Presnell, age 53, and her husband William B. Scott, age 63, are living in the same household with her daughter, "Pally" Vuncannon Scott, age 36, and her husband (also the son of William B. Scott), William "Billy" Scott , age 36. This information was provided to me by my cousin, Elise Graves Vecchia in March 1998. I have information that lists two different sets. And...the picture of the gravestone of William A. Vuncannon -appears to be the son of Talitha & Noah and I can make out a little of the bottom...he was 1 yr 3 months but I can't make out how many days.He must have been their first child. >>

    3. I do hope someone out there can help me with all of this. It starts with Margaret Butler born about 1826 that married Andrew J. York. They had 5 children together: Julia E. ,Mary Z., Jesse A., John and Margaret. I believe daughter Margaret was called Maggie. In 1870 husband Andrew York was not listed in the census records. In 1880 it has Margaret married to a Thomas Pugh. In 1900 Margaret and the youngest two daughters were still living in Franklinsville, Randolph County. I would appreciate any and all information on the children of Margaret and Andrew, what happened to Andrew, what happened to Thomas Pugh. When did any of them die, married or what have ya. I just happened to stumble on the fact Margaret had married Thomas Pugh today. I have been searching census records all day and can find no more information :-((( All help is appreciated!! Jane
