Far as I know, the last record of William III was in the 1800 census. Several of the daughters of William (d.1805) went to Indiana, so I have wondered if his two sons that seem to have disappeared at about the same time didn't go out there, as well. William, Jr. (d.1805) was a brother of Robert (d.1820) who married Anne Walker. So far, what I have for the children of William (d.1805) and his wife Lydia (probably Elswick) are: 1. Mary Field (c.1760-1846) m. Pierce Noland and went to Georgia in 1793, and then to Wilkinson Co., Mississippi c. 1803. 2. Lydia Field (1762-1852) m. Richard Lewis and went to Floyd Co., Indiana about 1810. 3. Jeremiah Field (c.1764-1830) m. Eleanor Sherwood, and remained in Randolph Co., NC, my line. 4. Robert Field, born c.1765/1769, based upon his placement in the list of children in his father's will. Last record I have for him is in the 1790 census or Surry Co., NC. 5. Jane Field (c.1769-1859) m. Jesse Stroud, went to Harrison Co., Indiana around 1805. 6. William Field, born c.1770/1772, based on placement in will. m. Ann, last record is 1800 census of Randolph. 7. Rebecca Field (c.1772/3-1852/5) m. Hugh Sherwood, went to Washington Co., Indiana around 1817. 8. Tabitha Field (c.1775-aft.1860) m. Thomas Sherwood Kirkman, remained in Randolph Co. I'd be pleased to compare notes with you on these folks. I've always wondered what happened to Robert & William. Best Regards, John Field Pankow Asheville, NC
