There is a James T Gardner in Martin Co NC in 1880, but is it the right one?? Then in 1910 his name is Garner without the D. Did your Carlie Lester have a brother James Grover? I have a James T Gardner born Nov 1860, married to Eliza Jane Brown, whose son James Grover married Sallie E J Brady of Moore Co NC, my 4th cousin. I am inclined to think that your James Taylor Gardner belongs either to the Moore or the Randolph Gardner/Garners.... they married Bradys a LOT..... but I can't find him in any of my Gardner families YET. The Moore Co Garners kept the original spelling. Most of the Randolph ones changed to GarDner about 1800. Then there was another, unrelated, Garner family in Randolph.......
