He moved to Morgan County, GA by 1810 and then to Walton County, Ga abt 1820. His name was James Fielding Arnold but on he census it showed him as "Fielding Arnold". He was born in VA in 1754. I was told he was a Major in the American Revolution for the NC Militia. How can I get proof of that? I have copies of a DAR and a SAR where his descendants says he was but no actual proof I'm trying to find out more about my ancestor. Who was his parents? His siblings? Is there anyone who can give me some history about Randolph County for 1790 & 1800? Is there anywhere online where I can go to look up deeds to see if he owned land in Randolph County in 1790 & 1800? There was a Jeremiah and a Whitlcck Arnold lived in Randolph County same time my James "Fielding" Arnold, could they have been his brothers? Could his father been a Francis Arnold since one of "Fielding's" grandson name was Francis? Would appreciate any and all! help on this family.
