Hi, Tim. In my files, I have a Brazilla Gardner who was born 23 May 1778 and died 1 September 1829 in Guilford County, NC. This name is shown in various spellings, including Barzillai. September 5, 1829, issue of Greensborough Patriot: "Deaths: In this county, on Wednesday last, Mr. Brazilla Gardner, and old and respectable citizen; and formerly a representative in the Legislature." He had two daughters: Delphina Eliza Gardner, born 3 February 1811. Delphina married George C. Mendenhall, who was very involved with the establishment of Guilford College. I seem to remember that his portrait hangs in the college library. George's father, another George, married Judith Gardner (I don't know her relationship to Brazilla). Oriana "Flora" Marzillia Gardner, born 8 June 1814. She married a man surnamed Nixon. I don't know of a direct connection between the Wall family and this Gardner family. Perhaps the child was named after someone they admired - something the Benbow family and other Quaker families did a lot, apparently. Katherine Dick Benbow
I believe Brazilla Gardner is from a third Garner or Gardner family, most likely the one which came from New England to NC. None of these families are related. dotsicle

You might try a website on the GRAVES family, which includes some Latham and at least one (Susannah) Chriscoe name: http://www.gravesfa.org/gen077.htm Charles Hillery BOLING m. Mary GRAVES one of their children, Agnes b. c1825 married Elisha Robinson YOW. Their child Noah Wesley YOW married Susannah CHRISCOE. another of Chas. Hillery's children, Agnes' brother Alfred BOLING married Emiline GARNER. That marriage was 1 Sep 1867, These families all lived in Randolph Co. I have found the Graves website (URL given above) to be a very good account.
