    2. Thanks to all, each and every one of you, of the more than 100 replies I received to my query about Genealogy Techs. I received not ONE positive reply, only negative warnings, and some rather specific notes on the perpetrator of this scam - even a copy of his indictment in Iowa for trying to run a similar scam up there. I knew there were some crooks out there but had no idea of the extent. Be very, very careful before you spend money on something that seems too good to be true - it usually is. 1. [NCR'ndol] North Carolina information ?
    2. Greetings to the List, and to many cousins, I'm sure... I descend from Alexander WILLIS and Elizabeth ROUGH, who were, reportedly, married in Davidson County, NC, on December 4, 1840. Alexander WILLIS was the son of James WILLIS, b. 1786, Rowan Co., NC, and Martha Patsy COATS, b. abt 1782, in NC. I do not know the Christian name of Elizabeth ROUGH's father but her mother may have been Mary C. KEPLEY. Is there any record of a ROUGH-KEPLEY marriage around 1760? Is anyone researching the ROUGH family? Is ROUGH pronounced about the same as RAUCH ? Sort of like ROW/HOW/NOW? Are there any KEPLEYs in NC? TIA for any help! 3. Cookie, Richard Eastman's latest newsletter speculates that Genealogy Techs is a reincarnation of a con run by someone who has already been arrested and is awaiting trial for running fake genealogy sites/services. Same idea - a "self-updating" CD; wording and special offers on the website virtually identical to previous scams; no way to get your money back. Don't touch it. Leah was born c.a. 1790 in North Carolina or Virginia. Most census records have her born in North Carolina, but one census record lists her son, Daniel as stating his mother was born in Virginia. So there are several possibilities there. Leah's father, William Goings, states that he was born c.a. 1749 in Virginia, according to his Revolutionary war pension papers. William Goings is the son of John Harmon and Elizabeth Goings. We have not been able to trace either of these ancestors. Elizabeth may have been born around 1735. I believe there is some connection with your Daniel Goings line, but I have not been able to trace Elizabeth yet because woman are so poorly documented in the colonial records. Thanks, Cyndie

Lydia Margaret had a sister Lydia Martha McNabb who married a Brady.there parents were James Robert McNabb and Margrett Elizabeth Silva. They lived in Moore Co. on the Chatham County line.Near the settlement of Prosperity ,there is the church and the old post office building still standing.(Church) is still active. the Taylors and I assume that the McNabs were burried in the family cemetary, the only headstone is for Lydia Margaret Taylor, all I could find for there children in moore co is Charoltte Taylor born after 1830. there are about 40 to 50 indintions in the woods around her grave, so we know it was a large family plot and many unnamed people are there. Robert and Lydia Margaret could have had other children and named them after themselfs. as her parents did, her parents had a son named Robert but he died at 1 day old. so verry possiable they had others .I really have not researched the Taylor side so I don't know about them. Lydia Martha McNabb Brady was my great great great great grandmother. if this helps let me know
