I have a problem with Mary Butler and George Staley that lived in Randolph County, NC. On Ancestry many people have them married at different times with George having been married three different times. I have two different dates of marriage for George and Mary; one is 4/1/1840 and the other is 12/11/1858. Does anyone know anything about this couple? When they were married for sure, who their children were? Any and all help is greatly appreciated! I have confusing information :-((( Thank you Jane

Hi Cookie -- Below are two addresses that will get you good York information. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~allyorks/ncstate.htm http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~monticue/ghtout/ghtindex.htm Sarah York Alldredge was probably descended from Jeremiah York, whose descendants lived in North Carolina at that time. There were lots of them in Randolph, Surry, Stokes and Guilford, etc. They're not in my direct family line, but they pop up so much and are so interesting that I tend to keep track of them. Happy hunting! Morning Cookie :-) Butler is my primary line. The only information I have on York is what I posted earlier. I wish I could help you. I do know Andrew York was the son of Jeremiah and Tamer York from Randolph County. That is the only information I have on him. Sorry Jane

I do hope someone out there can help me with all of this. It starts with Margaret Butler born about 1826 that married Andrew J. York. They had 5 children together: Julia E. ,Mary Z., Jesse A., John and Margaret. I believe daughter Margaret was called Maggie. In 1870 husband Andrew York was not listed in the census records. In 1880 it has Margaret married to a Thomas Pugh. In 1900 Margaret and the youngest two daughters were still living in Franklinsville, Randolph County. I would appreciate any and all information on the children of Margaret and Andrew, what happened to Andrew, what happened to Thomas Pugh. When did any of them die, married or what have ya. I just happened to stumble on the fact Margaret had married Thomas Pugh today. I have been searching census records all day and can find no more information :-((( All help is appreciated!! Jane
