He married Rebecca Ballew circa 1784. He registered to pay taxes in Rutherford County in 1785 and purchased 200 acres on Haueds(Howards/Hughes?)Creek from Jessee Briggs on June 12, 1794. I received information that this creek is now in Polk County. Circa 1806 he moved to Caldwell County, KY. If you have information that Haueds Creek is in Polk County or who Joseph's parents were, please let me know. Joseph's children were Delilah, Edmund L, Alexander, William L, Joab, Burt Greenberry, John Major, Daniel Boone, Hester Ann, Robert Wilson and Greenberry H.
