This is the web page: http://www.blueridge.net/lds/nc/oldtryon.html When Tryon County was dissolved, the records were scattered around. The area that you are looking for "Pacolet River" probably went to Rutherford County. However, it is important to note that there was some confusion on the state line and some records for this area may be in South Carolina. I think that it was probably the other way round (North Carolina records may be for areas that were really in South Carolina). Only adds to the fun. Who or what are you looking for? In that time period there were not many property owners along the North Pacolet River. Virginia >> Virginia, I have family roots from the North Pacolet River area of Tryon. James Fisher, John Blackwell, Thomas Melvin Walker, and more. I am especially interested in learning more of James Fisher. James Jr. was a well known hunter who went for six months at a time. One of his companions was JOhn Green (his son-in-law) and Thomas Cantrell (another son-in-law). My grandfather was the third of six children born in the same house in Tryon. Some births were charged to NC and others to SC. The state line was just a line in the dirt and I was told that it depended on where the mid-wife came from as to which state got credit for the birth. Granddad was born in 1893. Any help would be appreciated. Linda
