You might try records in Greenville and Spartanburg counties. The fact that he died in Polk county could mean a tie here because the nearest hospital to Dark Corner would be in Polk county, and Landrum is nearby. Dark Corner is on parts of Glassy Mountain, which might be another place to search and Glassy Mountain has one side of it in Henderson county.
