McFarlands as a family has been in the burial business for a long time, but I dont knonw about records that old. The death certificate might yield some clues. there were mostly family and church cemeteries at that time from what I have learned. I have been researching my families in Polk, Henderson and Rutherford counties for about 9 years now and only rarely found a "public" cemetery. The Rutherford County cemetery in Rutherfordton is large and includes families from outside the area. It has been mapped and is on the internet, so you might check there
