My Joseph "Big Joe" Moore(1814-1902) was a slave on the Richard and Margaret Moore plantation on White Oak Creek in Polk County. At that time Polk County was Rutherford and Henderson Counties. Polk county was established in 1855. We do not know his parents, but his wife was Harriet, Cherokee. She had some children, but I think he may have had other children.
