    1. [NCPERQUI] Jaemes Oats.
    2. Le Bateman
    3. My maternal eightgreatgrandfather was James Oats also called Jaemes "the Old" Oats. He was supposed to have had a signet ring and a Silver Tea Set with his Coat of arms on it. How can I track this down to varify this. There is a referrence to it in the Book Oates-Earl and Related Families by Weinburger. Jaemes was a prominant attorney in Perquimans County court was held in his house until the day he died in January 1703. If there is anyone doing research on this family and knows anything about the signet ring and Tea Set please contact me. If there is anyway to prove he was of Danish descent I would also like to know. Email me at LeBateman@NetZero.Net, or write me Jacob L.
