Does anyone have a notion as to the origins of John and Caleb Harman who appear in the records for Perquimans Co., in the 1700's. Robert Harman's will was dated January 7, 1758, wife Elizabeth, Exec. Caleb, sons Caleb, John, Stephen, Thomas, Daughter Mary. Caleb Harman's will was dated October 2, 1773, wife Elizabeth, Exec. Thomas (brother), Test. Mary, daughter Orpah, sons Robert, James, Caleb, Joshua. One Robert Harman of Berkeley, married Elizabeth Freeman, March 26, 1669. Daughters Elizabeth, Sarah, Ann, son Robert, may be father of the above Robert. My end goal is to find the parents of one Stephen Harman who was born in 1779, either in Virginia or North Carolina, married Lucinda Joslin (B. Amherst Co., Va., 1779). Their marriage took place in 1799 in Garrard Co., Ky. Does anyone know whether these Harmans came from Western Kentucky, Va. border or from Pennsylvania, or elsewhere. Any help is much appreciated.
