I am searching to see if anyone can do a lookup for the following names in Henshaw's Quaker Encyclopedia. Callaway, Evans, Oates, and Wyatt. I think that my ancestor James Oates might be a Anglican, but I am not exactly sure. Is there an index of Civil marriages in the Perquimans Area. There are two dates listed for his marriage. 7/Sep/1694 married by Capt Anthony Dawson. And 11/Sep/1694 by Thomas Harve Esq De. Governor both are in Wynnette Parks Haun's Book Old Albemarle County Perquimans Precinct North Carolina Births, Marriages, Deaths, and Flesh Marks 1659-1959. Would both of these be civil marriages. Or is there an Index which list Civil Marriages, because the Church of England had not been established in Perquimans at this tme.
