Malachi Chappell is listed in both the 1772 and 1787 Tax Lists. He wrote a will on 20 Apr 1775, in which a number of children are named - but not their mother. There is no son named Malachi. "Land in Ballahack" is left to son Jesse, whose name appears with his father in the 1772 Tax List, so is presumably the eldest son. Jesse does not appear in the 1787 Tax List: where is Ballahack? On 8 Jan 1787 Malachi Chappell married Sarah Forehand. I have been unable to find any record of children from this marriage, but suspect Caleb Chappell may have been their son. Caleb's son Israel married Squires Chappell's daughter Martha (Patsy) Ann. Can anyone confirm (or deny) that the Malachi in 1772, 1775 and 1787 are all the same person? Does anyone know of any children from the 1787 marriage?
