I need some information about the Leonards in this county, going back to at least 1760's. My 2nd great grandfather, Jacob Leonard was born 1763, and we cannot find his parents. There were Leonard's in this county before that . Perhaps someone might know of my 3rd great grandparents already. Family papers state that he was born in England, but we can find no proof of that. I found Jacob with his wife Rebecca Brewer in 1786 in Chatham County. They raised a family in Randolph Co. I have pulled everything out of Randolph Co. that is available, but there is no hint as to his parents. It is quite possible that he was brought over from England as a young lad, however, as I said before, we can find no proof. I have checked all the ships lists for any of that time period. My search has gone on for 27 years, and I may have gone as far as I can go, so if you have any hint as to who may be my great grands, I would greatly appreciate it. This is being posted to several other county lists, so if you recieve it more than once, I apologize, but I must get on with finding his parents if at all possible. Thanks to you in advance.
