James (b. 1701 in Ireland) and Mary (Mollie Bird) Armstrong migrated from PA to Orange County, NC about 1750 and settled on some 600 acres along the Enos River. I am looking for any living descendants. Their children were: William Armstrong (b. 1737, PA), married Jane Lapsley Sarah Armstrong (b. 1740, PA), married George Allen of Orange County James Armstrong (b. 1745), apparently died early. Mary Armstrong (b. 1749), married Alexander Mebane, Jr of Orange County Susannah Armstrong (b. 1754), married ___ Lloyd of Orange County Elizabeth Armstrong (b. 1758), married James Lapsley. William Armstrong (b. 1737) served as a Captain in the Continental Army, 1st and 3rd Regiments of NC. I have extensive records on the descendants of William and Jane Lapsley Armstrong that I will be happy to share.
