Hi Group, Someone sent me a message about the McQuiston family in North Carolina in the past few days, and I lost the message just as I was opening it, due to the problems with AOL. Could whoever sent the message resend it? I have considerable information about the McCuiston family, including the connection with President Andrew Jackson and the Gold that they inherited, which Robert McCuiston gave to President Sam Houston to save the Republic of Texas in 1836. I am a descendant of Jane Ruth who first married Robert McCuiston in about 1754, probably in Pennsylvania or Maryland. They came to old Rowan County, NC about 1753 probably with the Nottingham Colony. Robert McCuiston died about 1760 and Jane Ruth married Major Thomas Blair about 1763 and I am a descendant of their daughter Martha Blair, who married her first cousin, John Blair.
