Thomas Douglas Hall was born 1 March 1758, Prince Edward County, Virginia. I am not sure when he moved to Orange County. I am not sure if he moved with all of his family either. I am aware of the will of John Hall and his wife Jean Deal???but it is my understanding of other Hall researchers, that this John is not the Father of Thomas Hall. Thomas enter the Rev. War from Orange County and was captured several months after active service. He was held prisoner in South Carolina. It is said that he never got over his anger with the way he was treated as a prisoner. At the end of the war he returned to Orange County where he married Nancy Hayes 16 September 1783. He had the following children: Martha Hall Benjamin F. Hall Obediah Hall William Hall Jermiah Hall Zachariah Hall Edmond Hall Absalom Hall All of the above children were born in Orange County, North Carolina,Zachariah Hall is my direct line. Andrew Corbin Hall Hugh Ferguson Hall Thomas Dougless Hall the above children were born in Knox County Tennessee. It is believed that he came to Tennessee about 1795,96. He settled in the area that became known as Halls Crossroads, which was named after him. Levi Hinds, Bazel Human, Thomas Gilliam, Elliot, Israel,, John Albright, Shoemaker are some of the names that are listed inEast Tennessee Taxpayers"pg. 65 of Captain Bishops Company. I am also interested in the Gilliam Family. I have a Sarah Gilliam who married Michael Frake in 1806, their son William A. Fraker married Susanna Hall daughter of Zachariah Hall about 1830. If there are any of Edward Gilliams children named Sarah born about 1790. she could be mine I do know that the Human family was traveling with the Gilliam family.
