Searching for any information about CHEATWOOD (?Chetwood, Chitwood, etc?) folks in the Orange County area at the end of the 1700's. Elizabeth Cheatwood marries John Dennis/Dennison/Tennison in 1798 in Caswell County, probably his second wife. After his death, she marries Edmond Lyon in Caswell County. They sell her inherited estate and move west, eventually ending up in Overton Co, TN. There is a Lanslot Cheatwood in Caswell County records, also in 1798, but I can find no other potential family members for my Elizabeth.
