Recent clues have led my search to the Battle of Alamance in NC in 1771 - I have vague recollections of a LYON man being tried in the courts after the battle between Gov. Tryon and the militia and the Regulators, primarily of Orange County. If any kind soul has a resource book giving a list of those participating in the battle, or abstracts of the court cases after, etc., I would greatly appreciate a check to see if any LYON folks are listed. I suppose I should say 'on either side', but I recall him being tried as a purported Regulator. Should no one on the list have such a resource, I would be interested in hearing where I should direct my research - anyone know of any good sources of information regarding the participants in this conflict???
