I am responding to Jack Hopkins email to the list because I think this information may be useful to others. I have two suggestions. One, there is an excellent web site maintained by John Fuller which shows hundreds of lists and how to subscribe to them. There are many surnames listed including Hopkins. You can get to it at http://users.aol.com/johnf14246/gen_mail.html. Another suggestion is what I often do when there are only a few people researching a particular line. It is what I call an informal mailing list. Every mail software is different but I create a "group" or "list" in the address book with addresses of people concerned. Example I have a CROSSWELL group in my address book. When I get Crosswell information I email it to the "group". Then each member of the group can reply to the entire group. If this is not clear you can email me privately and I will try to help. It has been very successful.
